Welcome to the world of Australian Crystals our hidden gems. We are all part of this lucky country that incorporates the crystal realm. Our crystals carry the energy of this fine land and so do we. To honor our land, mother earth, and our connection with the crystals that are birthed from this great land.

Smoky Quartz

Smoky Quartz is hand fossicked and is often a mix of Smoky, Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Obsidian, and Citrine with Candle Quartz growth on the side (these are the protruding small white pieces), some are also  Elestial formation (which is caused by fast growth trapped acid that erodes, resulting in a skeleton look). Other Smoky Quartz have another crystal growing from the inside out or the reverse or have attached to the side during the growth phase, making the piece a manifestation. Smoky Quartz is an excellent grounding stone and also enhances attentiveness to the moment. They gently dissolve negative energies and blockages, helping to bring the mind and heart into unison.

Petrified Wood

Petrified wood can be formed from several varieties, mainly Araucaria, which is found along the edges of the Kennedy Ranges about one hundred miles inland from Carnarvon, Western Australia. Petrified wood begins its life as a seed grows into a tree, and is washed into the ocean where it becomes driftwood. The driftwood is then devoured by clams and shipworms. On becoming waterlogged the wood sank to the ocean floor. The holes within the timber fill with sediment from the ocean bottom and this begins the certification process and transformation from wood to stone. The light coloured areas visible in the gemstones were previously the boreholes from the original wood.

Sapphires

For centuries, sapphires have been associated with wealth and royalty. There are many myths and legends featuring sapphires as magical healing or protection stones. In 1200 BC, Helen of Troy’s beauty was believed to be associated with a magical star sapphire. A Star is found in some cut Sapphires and this is visible,  to the eye out in the sunshine or under certain lights,  when 2 or 3 intersecting lines glow giving a star or asterisk appearance. This can be due to the inclusion of certain minerals formed in the stone.

King Solomon who lived around 1000 BCE was reported to be a big fan of sapphires.

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, most of the sapphires from Australia ended up in Europe as many of the miners in the Central Queensland gem fields originally came from Russia and either sent the gems home or more likely returned home with their newfound wealth.

Sapphires are not only the deep shades of blue commonly associated with them. Sapphires grace the colours of the rainbow and each brings with it the associated energies to harmonize with your own energies.
